子供の頃、ビールのＣＭソングに起用されていたのを聴いて、「外人の歌ってほんっとにいいよなぁ…」と、洋楽に対する絶対の信頼（のちにけっこう裏切られる 笑）が芽生えた、僕にとって記念碑的な曲です。
しかし、『耳をすませば』ヴァージョンの、スカしたコードアレンジは、生理的にまったく受け付けない。もう、暴言吐きたくなるレヴェル。

これはほんとに良い歌ですよね。
自分は関東生まれの関東育ちなので、この歌のようなのどかな故郷がないので、故郷があるひとがちょっとうらやましい。
「耳をすませば」バージョンは微妙だけど、DAISHI DANCEの「the ジブリset」ってアルバムに入っているバージョンは、結構いいですよ。英語です。歌っているのは、幼少時代に「ナウシカレクイエム」で「ランランララランランラン♪」と歌っていた、久石譲の娘、麻衣さんです。
