If Apple had attached to the personal computer market, they could not been at the height of their prosperity.
The remarkable success in DAP market with iPod series was not even the final goal for them… iPhone showup the power of innovation and change in thinking. Steve Jobs was not afraid of his shifting of priorities.
I really regret not buying Apple’s stock in 2000… ;(
Their strength will not get weak for years while Apple has many important core technologies such as WebKit.
Android seems to be in a tough time to get more powerful support from third parties. Not like Google, most of companies need revenue commitment to get into Android business but since Android does not manage such revenue model clearly, it’s been difficult for most of companies to make a decision to provide their embedded technologies to Android.
I do not hear any good news about Japanese mobile manufacturers.
Now Japanese electronic companies are way behind in WW mobile market.
Just cannot imagine how they are going to regain lost ground.
(Sharp is playing very well in Chinese market though)
Mac OS X for PC had not been as successful as Windows in business perspective, but we should keep in your mind that all Apple’s hardware products incl. iPod and iPhone are using embedded versions of Mac OS X.
Apple really, really keeps on surprising me. There are many companies as abundant as stars younger than Apple and disappeared from business.
This is kind of incredible.
